Beyond physical risks associated directly with a specific job or type of work, for example, a person who works in a chemical plant or a manufacturing facility where chemicals are a part of their every day occupation, workers can be exposed to a variety of substances that may impair health.
Workers may be exposed to chemicals that are emitted from other sources in the workspace such as emissions from carpeting and wallboard or substances introduce by the heating, ventilation or air conditioning system including mold and mildew. Alone or in combination, these substances can create adverse effects from discomfort to serious disability.
Establishing causal links between the affects in humans and these types of environmental factors requires highly honed investigative skills. Health professionals at The Sapphire Group have had enormous practice in identifying these types of issues including "sick building syndrome" and other manifestations of disability in non-manufacturing settings. We develop customized study protocols to investigate the exposures and have the medical competency to diagnose diseases that may be related to work place exposures.
